National fence cost references for contractors

Your customers read cost websites before they call. This section puts the most-read national ranges side by side, quoted exactly with dates and links, and explains the drivers behind them so you can show where a job lands and why.

Our rule: we do not invent prices. Every number on this page is quoted from a named public source with its date. Your price book, your supplier invoices, and your production rates beat any national range.

Three sources, three different pictures. HomeAdvisor's average is built from customer surveys, HomeGuide's ranges assume 200 feet of wood or vinyl, and Fixr's average describes 200 feet of 4' cedar picket with a gate. (HomeAdvisor; HomeGuide; Fixr) None of them know your soil, your supplier, or your town's permit office.

How to use this section

Common questions

Does AI Fence Pros publish its own fence prices?

No. Every dollar figure in this section is quoted from a named public source with the date that source shows. We add no prices of our own.

Why do the national fence cost guides disagree?

They use different assumptions about fence length, height, materials, and what is included, and they update on different dates. Even one source can print two ranges for the same material. Treat them as rough reference bands.

Should contractors price jobs from these ranges?

No. Price from your own supplier invoices, measured crew production, and overhead. Use the published ranges to understand what homeowners have read and to explain where a job lands.

Sources

All figures above are quoted from these public pages as they read on Oct 19, 2026. They are national reference ranges, not our prices and not a quote for any job. Sources disagree, and every one of them says local conditions move the number. Re-check the source pages before you rely on them.
